Staff are hired for age specific program areas but have opportunities throughout the day to interact will all ages of campers (see our Programs tab for a description of each area)

Hidden Pines Ranch employs approximately 60 staff members each season for a variety of positions:
- Counselors: (work with kindergarten – 10th grade): 18+/minimum high school graduate by start of the camp season.
- Co-Horse Directors: (work with kindergarten – 10th grade): 18+/minimum high school graduate by start of the camp season
- Assistant Counselors: 16+ by the start of our camp season and entering 11th or 12th grade
- Horse Assistants/Wranglers: (help with riding): 16+ by the start of our camp season/entering 11th grade or higher
- Maintenance: 16+ by the start of our camp season.
- Office Admin: 18+ by the start of our camp season.
- Leadership Team: 18+ by the start of our camp season, with at least two years of camp leadership experience OR experience in a related field.
Staff Qualifications:
- Desire and ability to work and play with children in an outdoor setting (prior experience working with children is strongly preferred)
- Ability to teach various activities
- Ability to put campers first
- Character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience are all taken into consideration before hiring

Specialized Area Training (Program training for K/1, Bridge, and MS Programs – Low Ropes Course leads in the afternoon): Monday, June 3rd 8:00am-4:00pm

Training Day #1: Wednesday, June 5th 8:00am-5:00pm

*Campers will visit camp from 10:00am-12:00pm to meet their counselors, pick up their t-shirts, and more.

When camp is in session, standard staff hours are from 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Our staff work all sessions of the summer.
Mini Camp: Monday, June 10th-Friday, June 14th
Session 1: Monday, June 17th-Friday, June 28th
Session 2: Monday, July 1st-Friday, July 12th
*There is no camp on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th.
Session 3: Monday, July 15th-Friday, July 26th
Session 4: Monday, July 29th-Friday, August 9th
Hill Murray Day: Monday, August 12th 8:00am-4:00pm
*This is an optional day for staff to work, running camp activities to facilitate the 9th grade retreat for Hill Murray High School.
